    Flat & Curved Glass Tempering

The SANKEN SKFB series combines flat and curved glass tempering in one production system. Eight models provide different processing sizes, helping you select a furnace around your glass dimensions and factory space.

    For Flat Tempering

The SKFB series heats flat glass and then transfers it to the flat quenching section. Air cooling tempers the glass while maintaining its flat shape.

    Flat Glass Processing

    • Loading: prepared glass enters the furnace on the loading rollers.
    • Heating: furnace temperature and heating time are set for the glass type and thickness.
    • Quenching: heated glass enters the flat quenching section for air cooling.
    • Unloading: tempered glass leaves the cooling section for inspection and handling.

    Selection for Flat Glass

Choose the model around your maximum and minimum glass dimensions, thickness range and target output. We also review the glass type, coating, electrical supply and space for loading and unloading.

    For Curved Tempering

For curved glass production, heated glass enters the bending and quenching section. The forming system shapes the glass to the required curve, and air cooling tempers it in the curved profile.

    Computer-Controlled Bending

Synchronized upper and lower forming rollers adjust the curved profile under computer control. Multiple arc-adjustment mechanisms allow individual adjustment and fine tuning of the forming shape. Key forming components are machined using CNC lathes.

    Curved Glass Processing

    • Loading and heating: prepared flat glass is heated for forming.
    • Bending: the heated glass is formed to the required curvature.
    • Quenching: the shaped glass is air cooled in the bending and quenching section.
    • Unloading: curved tempered glass is removed for dimensional and quality inspection.

    Selection for Curved Glass

Send us the glass thickness, bending radius, arc length, straight-edge length and profile drawing. These dimensions define the forming requirement and help us select the bending configuration.

We review the curved glass processing size together with the required radius. Tell us whether your drawing uses arc length or chord length, and mark the bending direction so we can match the equipment to the finished shape.

    Flat and Curved Production Requirements

Production Requirement For Flat Tempering For Curved Tempering
Finished shape Flat glass Curved glass
Processing stages Heating and flat air quenching Heating, bending and curved air quenching
Glass dimensions Length, width and thickness Arc or chord length, straight-edge length and thickness
Additional forming information Glass type and coating Bending radius, bending direction and profile drawing
Model selection Glass size, thickness and output Glass size, thickness, radius and output

    Heating, Bending and Quenching

Glass passes through the heating stage before forming and air quenching. For curved glass, the bending section shapes the heated glass to the required profile. We review the glass size, thickness and bending radius together when selecting the furnace configuration.

    Temperature Control

Multi-zone temperature control manages heating across the furnace. Operators can adjust process settings for different glass specifications and monitor production through the control system.

    Production Monitoring

The control system monitors glass transport, heating, cooling and unloading. Equipment alarms help operators identify faults and respond during production.

    W and CW Configurations

The SKFB series includes W and CW models. CW models incorporate forced convection heating for heat-treatable Low-E glass. We select the heating configuration around your glass type, coating and processing requirements.
