Digital UV Printing for Decorative Glass

The SANKEN SKUV series prints digital artwork on flat substrates using UV ink. Ricoh Gen5 printheads, servo-controlled X and Y motion, automatic thickness measurement and printhead anti-collision functions support decorative printing.

Five models offer printing areas from 1300 × 2500 mm to 2000 × 3200 mm. Select the format around your panel size, artwork and required print configuration.

Printheads, Colour and Motion Control

Ricoh Gen5 Printheads

The printing system uses Ricoh Gen5 heads with variable droplets of 7–35 pL and a maximum printing resolution of 600 × 2400 dpi.

Colour and White Ink

The colour configuration includes CMYK, light cyan, light magenta and white. Varnish printing is also available; select the ink channels and printhead arrangement for the intended work.

Four Standard Printheads

The standard arrangement uses four heads: three for the colour channels and one for white. Configurations with five to eight heads are optional.

Servo-Controlled X and Y Axes

Servo motors control X- and Y-axis movement during printing.

Ink Temperature Control

An ink temperature-control system manages the ink condition during operation.

Automatic Thickness Measurement

The machine measures substrate thickness to establish the printing height.

Printhead Anti-Collision Function

The head assembly stops automatically when a collision is detected.

Decorative Print Effects

Use colour, white ink and varnish configurations to create decorative images and layered, raised or glossy effects. Artwork preparation, ink layering and the selected head configuration define the print result.

Applications include art glass, decorative wall panels, glass doors, furniture glass and appliance panels. Review substrate preparation, adhesion and finish requirements for the intended product.

Working Sequence

Prepare the substrate for the chosen ink, check panel positioning and select the required colour and white-ink layers. Review the finished sample before starting the production batch.

Artwork and Production Planning

The supported artwork formats are PDF, JPEG, TIFF, EPS and AI. Send representative files with the intended print dimensions, image quality, white layer and varnish requirements so we can review the workflow.

Production efficiency varies with the model, print mode, artwork and ink-layer arrangement. Select the configuration against the finish and output needed for your products.

Workshop and Application Review

Send the maximum substrate size, thickness range, material, intended application and required daily output. Include samples or artwork showing the desired decorative effect.

All models have 6 kW total power and use a 220 V AC supply. Allow space around the selected machine for loading, unloading, ink handling and maintenance.

Can it print white ink and varnish?

White ink is included in the colour configuration, and varnish printing is available. Specify the required channels and head configuration when selecting the printer.

What is the standard head configuration?

What is the maximum material thickness?

All five models support a maximum material thickness of 130 mm.
