The SANKEN SKR Series Glass Straight Line Round Edging Machine is designed for straight-line grinding and polishing of pencil round, flat and profiled glass edges.
By selecting different grinding and polishing wheels, the machine can process pencil round edges (PC), flat edges without arris (FE), flat edges with arris (FA), and 10G, 20G and 30G edge profiles.
Rough grinding and fine polishing are integrated into one processing sequence.
The series includes SKR-4, SKR-6 and SKR-8, with a maximum processing size of 1830 × 2440 mm, minimum processing size of 100 × 100 mm and glass thickness range of 3–19 mm.
The SANKEN SKR Series Glass Straight Line Round Edging Machine is designed for grinding and polishing straight edges of flat glass sheets. It supports different edge profiles through the selection of suitable grinding and polishing wheels.
The machine can process pencil round edges (PC), flat edges without arris (FE), flat edges with arris (FA), and 10G, 20G and 30G edge profiles. Rough grinding and fine polishing can be completed in one processing sequence.
The SKR Series includes SKR-4, SKR-6 and SKR-8. All three models support glass dimensions from 100 × 100 mm to 1830 × 2440 mm and glass thicknesses from 3 to 19 mm.
SANKEN SKR Series Glass Straight Line Round Edging Machine
According to the SANKEN product catalogue, the SKR Series can be fitted with different wheel configurations for the following glass edge profiles.
The machine can grind and polish a rounded profile along the straight glass edge using the appropriate wheel configuration.
This configuration is intended for straight flat-edge processing without additional arris grinding.
The machine also supports flat-edge processing with arris grinding using a suitable arrangement of grinding and finishing wheels.
The SKR Series can be configured for 10G, 20G and 30G glass edge processing. Wheel shape and thickness should be selected according to the required profile and glass thickness.
Rough grinding removes glass material and forms the initial straight-edge profile before the finishing stages.
Fine grinding and polishing refine the processed edge surface after rough grinding. Both operations are integrated into the machine's edge-processing sequence.
Different grinding and polishing wheels can be installed to accommodate different glass thicknesses and edge profiles, including PC, FE, FA and 10G/20G/30G profiles.
The catalogue illustrates several wheel types used for straight-line round edging and polishing.
| Wheel Type | Catalogue Description |
|---|---|
| AD130 Diamond Wheel | 130 mm diameter diamond wheel for arris cutting. |
| D Diamond Wheel | Diamond grinding wheel for PC, FE, FA and OG edge configurations. |
| BK Polishing Wheel | BK46 / BK60 / BK80 / BK120, with T10 / T15 / T20 / T25 / T30 configurations. |
| BD Polishing Wheel | Polishing wheel with T10 / T15 / T20 / T25 / T30 configurations. |
The final wheel arrangement should be confirmed according to glass thickness, edge profile and required surface finish.
Glass passes through the configured wheel stations for straight-line edge processing. The required edge profile is determined by the installed grinding and polishing wheels.

Specifications are taken from the SANKEN product catalogue. Final machine and wheel configurations should be confirmed before ordering.
All three catalogue models share the same glass processing-size range, thickness range and voltage specification. The published differences include installed power, overall machine dimensions and weight.
The SKR-4 has a total power rating of 11.5 kW, machine dimensions of 5500 × 1500 × 2200 mm and a listed weight of 1700 kg.
The SKR-6 has a total power rating of 16 kW, machine dimensions of 6000 × 1500 × 2200 mm and a listed weight of 2200 kg.
The SKR-8 has a total power rating of 19.5 kW, machine dimensions of 6060 × 1500 × 2200 mm and a listed weight of 2700 kg.
Model selection should also consider the required edge profile, wheel configuration, factory layout and glass-processing requirements.
The SKR Series is designed for a range of straight-line glass edge profiles, including pencil round, flat and 10G/20G/30G edges.
For conventional straight flat-edge grinding and polishing, SANKEN also provides the SKE Series Glass Straight Line Edging Machine.
See the SANKEN Glass Straight Line Edging Machine for the SKE Series.
The SKR Series can be considered for flat-glass products that require straight-line pencil round, flat or other catalogue-listed edge profiles.
Potential applications include furniture glass, decorative glass and architectural glass components. The required profile and edge finish should be confirmed before selecting the machine and grinding-wheel configuration.
It is a machine used for grinding and polishing straight glass edges with profiles such as pencil round, flat and 10G/20G/30G. The required profile is produced with a suitable grinding and polishing wheel configuration.
The SANKEN catalogue lists SKR-4, SKR-6 and SKR-8.
PC refers to pencil round edge processing. FE refers to a flat edge without arris, while FA refers to a flat edge with arris.
Yes. The SKR Series catalogue lists these edge profiles. Suitable wheels should be selected according to the glass thickness and required profile.
All three models are specified for glass thicknesses from 3 to 19 mm.
The maximum catalogue-listed processing size is 1830 × 2440 mm for SKR-4, SKR-6 and SKR-8.
Yes. The SANKEN catalogue states that rough grinding and fine polishing can be performed in one processing sequence.
Selection should consider the required glass edge profile, glass thickness, overall machine dimensions, installed power and planned production requirements.
For SKR Series equipment selection, please provide the glass dimensions, thickness range, required edge profile, planned production requirements and factory layout.
